英语小故事儿童短篇：The Lion and the Mouse
Once upon a time, a lion was sleeping in the forest. A little mouse ran across his face. The lion woke up and caught the mouse. The mouse was very scared and begged the lion to let him go.
The lion laughed and said, “You are so small and weak. How can you help me?”
The mouse said, “I may be small, but I have a big heart. One day, I will help you.”
The lion didn’t believe the mouse, but he let him go. A few days later, the lion was caught in a trap. He couldn’t move and was in danger.
The mouse heard the lion’s cries and ran to help him. He gnawed through the ropes with his sharp teeth and set the lion free.
The lion was very grateful. He realized that the mouse was not as weak as he thought. From then on, the lion and the mouse became friends.
The moral of the story is that everyone, no matter how small or weak, has the potential to help others and make a difference. We should never look down on others or underestimate their abilities. Friendship and kindness can also develop between unlikely pairs.
